Usually around birthdays, you look forward to things you might receive from others as gifts. For some people, birthdays are not what you can get but what you can give. This is definitely the case with longtime Firstgiving fundraiser Raya. 

This year, on her 22nd birthday, she is raising money for the Fenway Community Heath Center.

The Fenway Community Health Center (FCHC) provides quality health services for traditionally underserved populations such as the GLBT community, the poor, and those with HIV/ AIDS.  Through research and evaluation and many outreach programs and services, they are improving the lives of others throughout the local community and nationally.

From July 1st 2008 until June 30th 2009, the FCHC must raise over $3.5 million dollars in order to receive a matching Kresge grant of $1.75 million. 

You can help the FCHC meet this fundraising challenge and help our longtime supporter Raya reach her birthday goal by donating here. 

Over the last couple of years Raya has raised more than $2700 for charities on Firstgiving and has promoted countless other causes.  She is an inspiration on how one person can truly make a difference in the world.
