Nonprofit fundraising with Facebook: build your community in 3 easy steps

As you go about your Facebook fundraising this summer, Facebook has a helpful tool you can use to build your nonprofit fundraising community online: a widget for your website or blog. The Fan Box widget links your Facebook fan page to your nonprofit site, lets visitors see your fan base, and makes it easy for them to jump on the bandwagon.

Here’s how to get it up and running:

1. Go to your Facebook fan page and click the “Add Fan Box to your site” link under your logo.

2. Preview the widget and copy the HTML code provided:

3. Paste the HTML code in the appropriate place on your website or blog, and voila! The widget appears on your site:

If you or someone you know is really savvy with HTML, you can customize the Fan Box further.

Happy fundraising and Facebooking!
